The Love of God

The Love of God

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16 KJV)

This scripture is a very familiar passage of scripture to many and you may have read, studied or meditated on the passage yourself.  What does the scripture mean to you?  What does it mean to you that "God Gave?"  Is your frame of reference of God's giving equivalent of a friend's gift or does it go much deeper than that?  It should go much deeper to a love that is inconceivable.  A love so wide and with so much depth that it is unable to be embraced with our natural mind.  It is a love that is supernatural .  Think about it...... would anyone in their right mind give up their child to suffer or die in order for others to live that you did not know or love?  Probably not.

But God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son that whoever (you can write your name in here) believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  Notice that with the word believe is the preposition in which means to believe in Christ.  That is, we trust Him as the One who bore the penalty for our sins.  This is a personal thing.  We must each believe He died in our stand. My Friend, you must believe that He died for us.
