By Any Means

To the weak I became weak, to win the weak.  I have become all things to all people so that by all possible means I might save some. 1 Corinthians 9:22 (NIV)

A peer was invited to a prison to minister the Word of God, with the condition that he would not say the name of Jesus Christ.  You may ask how could one teach the Word of God and not mention the epitome of it.  You may even have understood if he turned it down.  He didn't.  While ministering, he simply said the Son of God instead Jesus Christ.

Another peer was invited to a church to minster the Word of God, with the condition that she preached out of the pulpit.  She was told that women were not allowed to come up on their platform.  You may ask when did this happen, and be shocked to know that it was a few years ago.  You may even have understood if she turned it down.  She didn't.  She preached on the floor just as she would have on the platform.

Both understood and practiced what Paul was teaching us in 1 Corinthians 9:22.  With their integrity still intact, they both disregarded their feelings and any possible offensiveness, in order to win lost souls to Christ.

Today let us focus on reaching out and sharing the Word of God to lost souls - by any way that is possible.  That is, by any means.
